A proper MP4 file you can use anywhere

MP4 is the video format every phone, laptop, TV and editing app understands, so it's the safest way to keep a TikTok. When you paste a link here, DropTik looks up every version of that video TikTok has available and lists them for you. You'll usually see a standard version and, for many videos, an HD one. Both come without the TikTok watermark.

Which one should you pick? If you're going to edit the clip, put it on a big screen, or just want it to look as sharp as possible, take the HD file. If you're short on storage or plan to send it over a messaging app that squeezes videos anyway, the standard file is smaller and does the job.

One honest note: no downloader can add detail that wasn't there in the first place. If the creator filmed in low light or uploaded a low-resolution clip, the MP4 will look the same as it does in the app. If you only care about the audio, the MP3 sound downloader saves you the space.

How to save a TikTok as MP4

Three quick steps, and the last one is just picking the quality:
1

Copy the video link

In the TikTok app, tap Share on the video and choose Copy link. On a computer, copy the address from the browser bar while the video is open.
2

Paste and tap Download

Tap Paste in the box above (or press Ctrl+V / Cmd+V), then tap Download. DropTik lists the video versions available for that post.
3

Choose HD or standard

Look at the quality and resolution in each row. Tap Download on the one you want. If a row says Prepare video, tap it first; DropTik gets that file ready, then the download button appears.

What you get with TikTok to MP4

  • No watermark: The MP4 is the clean version TikTok streams, without the logo or username on screen.
  • HD option when available: If TikTok stores a higher-quality version, it's listed separately so you can choose it.
  • Sound included: The MP4 keeps the original audio, unless TikTok has muted the video.
  • Clear quality labels: Each version shows its quality and resolution, so you know what you're saving before you tap.
  • Need just the audio?: Switch to the MP3 tool and save the sound on its own.

Why does my downloaded video look blurry?

There are three common reasons. First, the creator may have uploaded a low-resolution or heavily compressed video; the download can't look better than that. Second, you might have picked the standard version when an HD one was available, so check the list again and choose the HD option. Third, some messaging apps compress videos when you send them, so the copy your friend receives looks worse than the one on your phone. Our guide on why downloads look blurry covers this in more depth.

If you plan to edit the clip, keep the HD MP4 as your master copy and export a smaller version from your editor when you're done.

If tapping Download does nothing at all, you're probably inside another app's browser (Instagram, Messenger); open the page in Safari or Chrome instead.

Why is there no sound in my MP4?

If the video plays without audio, TikTok has most likely removed the sound from that post, usually because of a music copyright claim. When that happens, you'll also see a note in the TikTok app saying the sound isn't available. DropTik can only save the audio TikTok is still serving, so the file comes out silent too. The no-sound troubleshooting guide walks through every cause.

If the video has sound in the app but not on your device, try a different player. VLC plays almost everything, and on iPhone the built-in Files preview works well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do TikTok MP4 files from DropTik have a watermark?

No. You get the clean video without the TikTok logo or the creator's username. Our watermark guide explains why TikTok adds one in the first place.

Why don't I see an HD option for some videos?

TikTok doesn't keep an HD version of every video. If only one quality is available, that's the one DropTik shows. It's still the best version TikTok has.

Can I download TikTok in 4K or 1080p?

Only if the creator uploaded at that quality and TikTok kept it. Most TikToks top out at 720p or 1080p. DropTik shows the real quality of each file instead of promising a number.

Will the MP4 play on my phone and TV?

In almost every case. MP4 plays on iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows and most smart TVs. A few HD TikToks use a newer video codec that some older Windows PCs can't open by default; if that happens, play the file in VLC or pick the standard version instead.

Can I edit the downloaded video in CapCut or Premiere?

Yes, the MP4 imports into any editor. If you use someone else's clip in your edit, ask for permission and credit them.

Can I pick the quality when downloading several videos at once?

Not in the bulk tool, which saves the best direct file for each link to keep things quick. For one video where quality matters, download it here.
